By the term digital printing, we mean the reproduction of the digital impressions on the physical surfaces. By physical surfaces, we mean the common or the photographic paper, cloth, film, paper and plastics. However, the digital printing is different from the litho printing in quite a number of ways. In the case of digital printing, each of the impression made onto the paper is different as contrary to making of thousands of impression of the same content from the same set of plates as was done in case of traditional ways of printing. In the case of printing banners, the ink or the toner does not get absorbed into the paper or the material that you are using for taking the print. In this case, the ink forms a layer on the surface of the material thereby creating a fine print.
In the case of digital printing, there is a low wastage of chemicals required and papers needed for printing as compared to the conventional printing methods. Digital printing is good for rapid prototyping. It means that it is best for small print runs so that it is more accessible to a wider range of designers. There are also signs that are created with the help of printing technology that produces excellent print outs and visibility. The digital signs that are created with the help of the technology are more prominent and low on the maintenance. Therefore, they are durable, clear, and affordable and preferred by most of the customers.
